LAKE POWELL THE EMERGENCE OF GLEN CANYON • Over 30 days and 280 miles of packrafting on the Colorado River, Brett Davis and his partner Diana witnessed the emergence of Glen Canyon after the lake dropped to low water levels, leaving the river and its tributaries open to be explored again. First carving their way through sediment and silt in a river formed as the lake receded, then paddling on the lake itself, the team explored tributaries and side channels and hiked to immerse themselves in the surrounding landscape. What they found was that Mother Nature is still in control of the fate of Glen Canyon and the 710foot concrete wall that drowned its splendor more than six decades ago,

The Norway of Arabia A SUP expedition through Oman’s Musandam Peninsula • During the 2022 FIFA World Cup in nearby Qatar, Ryan Salm and his bandmates embarked on a self-supported paddleboard expedition through Oman’s remote Musandam Peninsula, where the Gulf of Oman meets the Strait of Hormuz. Carrying five days of food, water, and instruments, the crew traversed the so-called "Norway of Arabia," navigating heat, isolation, and a rugged portage between two seas.

Only Music Trading music for the kindness of strangers on the Snake River • Rivers bring people together. In 2024, the folk band A Brother’s Fountain set out on a threeweek journey down the Snake River in three rafts, carrying only their instruments and relying on music as currency. Along 120 miles of river, they traded songs for food, shelter, and rides. The trip became an experiment in generosity, community, and connection.
